7000kg Low Profile Trailer

Heavy-duty air cargo handling with a 7,000 kg rated capacity

The Hydeng GSE 7,000 kg Low-Profile Trailer is purpose-designed for transporting, loading and unloading aircraft containers and pallets throughout airport ramp, cargo and warehouse environments.

Its low-profile roller deck allows compatible loads to move efficiently between loaders, transporters, storage racks and warehouse handling systems. Heavy-duty construction, high-capacity castors and practical load-restraint features make it a dependable solution for frequent airside operations.

Designed and built by Hydeng GSE, the trailer is supported by Australian-based servicing, replacement parts and technical assistance.

Designed for efficient container movement

The trailer has a clear deck width of 3,220 mm between its guide rails, allowing compatible aircraft containers to be carried in either an end-forward or side-forward position.

Its deck incorporates three or four rows of heavy-duty galvanised steel rollers, depending on the required configuration. These rollers support the controlled movement of containers during transfer between the trailer and compatible loading or storage equipment.

Manual flip-up stops are positioned at the required locations to restrain different container configurations during transport and ground handling.

Heavy-duty castors built for airside conditions

The trailer’s castor assemblies are designed to withstand the loads and impacts associated with regular airport use.

The castor frames and swivel plates are profiled from 20 mm steel plate for increased impact strength. Axles, hubs and bearings are machined to close tolerances to support reliable operation and reduce premature wear.

Each castor has a load capacity of 2,300 kg, providing a combined castor capacity of 9,200 kg across the trailer.

This heavy-duty design has proven successful with customers throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, helping to reduce repair requirements and whole-of-life maintenance costs.

Safer, more practical drawbar operation

The heavy-duty drawbar incorporates two over-centre springs connected through a linkage system. These springs help support the drawbar and prevent it from crashing to the ground when released.

A positive locking restraint secures the drawbar in a vertical position while the trailer is parked or not in use.

The drawbar has a towing-eye centre dimension of 1,645 mm. Final towing compatibility should be confirmed against the tow vehicle and fleet requirements before ordering.

Integrated parking brake

A manually operated parking-brake lever is positioned on the right-hand side of the drawbar assembly.

The lever applies braking force to the rear fixed castors through a mechanical linkage, allowing the trailer to be secured when stationary. The handbrake handle is painted red for quick visual identification.

High-visibility safety markings

Key operational areas are painted safety yellow to improve visibility for ground personnel. These include:

  • Walkways
  • Towbar
  • Tow hitch
  • Container stops
  • Centre container stop
  • No-step areas between rollers

The parking-brake handle is painted red so operators can identify it quickly during use and equipment checks.

Applications

The Hydeng GSE 7,000 kg Low-Profile Trailer is designed for moving compatible aircraft containers and pallets between:

  • Aircraft loaders
  • Cargo transporters
  • Airport storage racks
  • Freight terminals
  • Air cargo warehouses
  • Ramp handling areas
  • Container transfer and staging points

It is suitable for airlines, airport operators, cargo handlers, ground handling companies, defence aviation facilities and specialist freight operations.

Built around your ground handling operation

Aircraft container handling requirements can vary between airports, operators and fleets. Hydeng GSE can discuss the required deck configuration, roller arrangement, container restraints, towing compatibility and other operational considerations before manufacture.

This helps ensure the completed trailer is compatible with the intended loads, handling systems and working environment.
