Efficient ULD transfer and staging

Slave pallets provide an intermediate roller platform for moving unit load devices between compatible cargo-handling systems, storage positions and operational staging areas.

The Hydeng GSE Slave Pallet has a platform height of 175 mm and uses 76 mm outside-diameter rollers to support the movement of compatible ULDs.

Container stops help restrain the load in the required position. The stop arrangement and roller configuration can be designed around the ULDs used within an individual operation.

Key features

  • Rated to carry 7,000 kg without structural deflection
  • Compatible with an extensive range of aircraft ULDs
  • Custom configurations available for other ULD types
  • Heavy-duty structural steel frame

Efficient movement of aircraft containers

LD3 and AKH containers are widely used to transport passenger baggage, freight and other loads in the lower deck of compatible aircraft.

Once removed from the aircraft, containers must be moved safely between loaders, staging areas, baggage facilities, cargo terminals and storage systems. The Hydeng GSE LD3/AKH Dolly is purpose-built to support this ground movement.

Its platform and restraint arrangement are designed around the dimensions and handling requirements of compatible LD3 and AKH containers.

Key product features

  • Designed for LD3 and AKH unit load devices
  • Maximum allowable container weight of 2,000 kg
  • Maximum towing speed of 24 km/h
  • Low-profile platform for container transfer
  • Load-restraint system for the intended container type
  • Designed for regular airport ramp operations
  • Towable as part of a compatible ground support fleet
  • Serviceable construction
  • Replacement parts and technical support available
  • Custom configurations available for specific operational requirements

Applications

The Hydeng GSE LD3/AKH Dolly is suitable for moving compatible containers between:

  • Aircraft cargo loaders
  • Airport baggage facilities
  • Air-freight terminals
  • Container staging areas
  • Cargo warehouses
  • Storage and transfer systems
  • Airport ramp operations
  • Aircraft turnaround areas

It may be used by airlines, ground handling companies, airport operators, freight organisations, defence aviation facilities and specialist aviation operators.

Built for everyday airside use

Container dollies operate in a demanding environment. They are exposed to frequent towing, repeated loading and unloading, changing weather and tight aircraft turnaround schedules.

Reliable dollies help ground crews maintain an efficient flow of baggage and cargo while reducing unnecessary handling and operational delays.

Hydeng GSE focuses on practical equipment that is:

  • Straightforward for ground personnel to operate
  • Robust enough for repetitive fleet use
  • Compatible with the intended handling process
  • Accessible for inspection and maintenance
  • Supported throughout its working life

Configured around your fleet

Airport infrastructure and operating procedures can differ between sites. Hydeng GSE can discuss the required configuration and compatibility with your existing ground support fleet.

Considerations may include:

  • Container type and dimensions
  • Container orientation
  • Load-restraint arrangement
  • Towing-eye and hitch compatibility
  • Dolly-train configuration
  • Braking requirements
  • Fleet numbering and identification
  • Safety markings
  • Existing loaders and transfer equipment
  • Local operating conditions

Complete requirements should be agreed before manufacture or modification.
